Dr. Marilyn Hernandez
Dr. Marilyn Hernandez completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. During her time in optometry school she worked as an ocular disease technician and translator assisting with glaucoma exam work ups and communicating exam findings to patients in Spanish. She also served as president of the Spanish Optometric Society and was an active member of the Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity where she traveled to Fiji and El Salvador providing eye care to hundreds of underserved community members.
After graduating optometry school, Dr. Hernandez completed a one- year residency program with a concentration in Ocular Disease and Primary Eye Care at Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital in Sacaton, Arizona, where she served the Native American population of the greater Phoenix area. Her professional interests are ocular disease, diabetic eye care, and primary eye care.
Dr. Hernandez is fluent in Spanish and is passionate about providing compassionate comprehensive eye care to all her patients.
