Dr. Paul Hirano
Dr. Paul Hirano grew up in the South Bay. He went on to excel at University of California Irvine where he was on the Dean’s Honor list.
From University of California Irvine, he went to the Southern California College of Optometry. During optometry school he was the president of a student-run organization called Project Concern. This group of students and optometrists ran community vision screenings throughout Orange County. He won 2 scholarships, the George I. Deane Memorial Leadership Award and the Asian-American Optometric Society Scholarship. He was also honored by his peers who elected him Senior Class President.
Dr. Hirano served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Southern California College of Optometry for many years and is a member of the following organizations;

California Optometric Association
Asian-American Optometric Society
South Bay Optometric Society
His research on tear composition and contact lens wear has been published in the Archives of Ophthalmology. He was appointed to the National Academy of Sports Vision and was on the staff of the International Olympic Games and has examined athletes from around the world.
